Inside out: Rediscover your wardrobe

I thought to myself that’s the way I have never looked at my wardrobe before. Would it look good?

Music videos are one of the places to get inspired for styling ideas. The greatest pros of styling field usually make some magical touches improving artists style.

Style in IDFWU music video had a challenge to deliver a message of protest, street life & roughness, making two lovely girls into a gangsta, streetstyle don’t mess with me kind of chicks.

The goal was achieved turning clothes inside out. Rough edges of jeans, clearly visible stitches, flopping pockets, distressed parts of jeans got even more highlighted.

I thought to myself that’s the way I have never looked at my wardrobe before. Would it look good? Can I wear it casually? Maybe I’ll get more styling choices just looking at my wardrobe from a different perspective.

After manually checking the whole pile of clothes inside out this is what I’ve accomplished:

Jeans & Jumper

It definitely made the whole look lighter. Put together it seemed way more casual than I thought it might look in the first place. Some people saw me walking around in this outfit throughout the day and only after asking them, they have noticed  I’m wearing clothes from a 'wrong side'.

Shirt & Jeans

I took classical shirt and tried putting it vice versa. The back pleat had some resemblance to a tie and it seemed as a very minimal approach to the looks.

Adding some layers with a pink jacket added few diagonal lines of it’s lining and in general the look seem to stay casual.

Wrapping up, it surely broaden my view and taught me to reconsider an item as a whole - from inside and out. Next time I’m shopping I’m certainly trying both sides!
