The Journey Of The Nipple Brooch
At the very beginning, the nipple brooch wasn’t a statement. It was a symbol of the Girl Power collection for our friends and like-minded to wear. And oh boyyy it snowballed on us.
The moment people saw the brooch, it went viral. Literally, guys, li-te-ra-lly all continents joined and you guys started a discussion questioning the standards, censorship, shouting equal rights!
We wanted to talk about body, why we are shy or the opposite - so confident in our skin.
On social media we asked what's wrong with censorship, what do our beliefs and backgrounds say about it. We stood there for a moment to admit to ourselves how are we truly feeling about it. Maybe if we are no longer comfortable in these standards it's time to update or remove it?
A piece of art always has a thousand meanings, and each of us finds its own - body shaming, censorship, breast cancer awareness, nurturing in public and much more! We got so surprised how many topics we found to be talked about.
One of the topics even ignited race equality conversations! When we made a nipple as a single piece and it was based on the same idea of beauty stereotypes & the queen of stereotype palette - colour pink.
You guys brought up you would love it to also represent a brown colour. And guess what! We spent some time in our studio and … drumroll please --Brown Nipples join designs squad!
